Sarah McFarland

Founder/Executive Director

Sarah is the Founder of The Learning and Integrating New Knowledge and Skills Center, Inc. (The LINKS Center, Inc.).  a nonprofit organization that provides support services to families caring for children diagnosed with mental illness.  Sarah uses her lived experience to encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds to move from hopelessness to wholeness. Her work includes, Certified Parent Support Provider, Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, Youth Counselor, CASA Guardian Ad Liten volunteer, Advocate for Sexual Trauma Services and Domestic Violence Prevention and Mental Illness.  Sarah is a Board member, advocate and facilitator for NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Illness. 

La'Mar Pettiford

Youth Counselor

Mr. Pettiford is a Life Skills Counselor who uses his professional training in addition to his life experiences to support and encourage individuals and families make positive life changes.  As a young boy growing up in the inner city of Richmond, La'Mar experienced many hardships.  Because of this he began going down a path of Self- discovery, Self- preservation and Self- love.   As a result he has chosen to use his Spiritual development and Consciousness to reach today’s youth.   La'Mar has worked in a variety of capacities to include Mentor, Counselor and Group Facilitator.


Clifford McKnight


Clifford uses his lived experience to make the connection with young people struggling to find purpose.  He uses his passion for football to teach teamwork, self discipline and dedication.
